Hello everybody, French team speaking!
We didn’t give any news since we had a lot of things to do and we’ve just found a place for our event.
French Powershift isn’t dead, let me explain what we’ve done since this summer :
We talked about it for the first time in July on Skype. Our organization team is composed of 6 volunteers united by the dream of a French youth movement for climate. We’ve organized our team in identifying the main tasks and dividing the work. We’ve been much more efficient since then.
But three month aren’t enough to organize such an event : It’s hard to contact people during their summer holiday. We had to wait for September before reaching some people able to help us find a place.
Did we give up? Hell no!! We had still a lot of inspiration and exciting ideas. Even if we’ve lowered our sight and reduced our target, we’ve good hope this event will lead to many other French initiatives.
Budget? Program? We had some trouble to agree if we would sell tickets or not, but in the meantime we worked on our communication campaign, on the “D-Day’s program” and we found speakers.
Many things have evolved since then: we have a new website and a great introducing video. Check it on www.powershiftfrance.weebly.com (To be honest, you’re reading a communication manager’s testimony : it could be biased!) There you can find some informations about the event, the program, the lectures and the workshops we will organize. It will take place on the 15th of October at Paris Dauphine University and we expect 100 to 240 people.
Now, we’re contacting students associations to spread the news and find many participants for our event.
PS : We’ve seen the place, it will be grandiose 
!
